BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was paid a courtesy call by US Ambassador to Dhaka Tracy Ann Jacobson, Charge d’Affaires (CDA).
The meeting was held at the BNP Chairperson’s political office in Gulshan, the capital, on Sunday.
BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and International Committee member Shama Obaid were also present at the time.
The party’s media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed the matter.
He said that US Ambassador to Dhaka Tracy Ann Jacobson, Charge d’Affaires (CDA), arrived at the Gulshan Chairperson’s office at 10 am. Then she paid a courtesy call on BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
Although no details were given about this meeting, it is believed that the current political situation in the country, human rights and the upcoming elections may be discussed.
