District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque has issued an order to impose Section 144 at the Bora Basalia Eidgah ground in Tangail Sadar Upazila due to the deteriorating law and order situation among the villagers during the Eid-ul-Fitr prayers.
The order states that all types of gatherings, slogans, processions, processions, picketing, use of microphones, beating of drums, creating disturbances, carrying of sticks, transportation of weapons and explosives and illegal intrusion of the general public are prohibited within a 400-yard radius of the Eidgah ground in Bora Basalia village.
District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque said that Section 144 has been imposed at the Bora Basalia Eidgah ground from 5 am to 6:30 pm on Monday, Eid day, to maintain law and order.
