The investigation committee has not found any involvement of any individual in the fire incident at the Secretariat. Nasimul Gani, head of the investigation committee and senior secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, made this information after submitting the initial investigation report of the fire incident to the chief advisor on Tuesday evening.
He said, “The fire started from a loose connection in the secretariat. No one was found to be involved in it.”
Nasimul Gani said, “No documents were burned in this incident. No damage was done. The damaged building will not be demolished either.”
At this time, investigation committee member Brigadier General Mahbub Hasan said, “No explosives were found on the burnt floors. A dog squad was used to search. No explosives were found in the samples obtained from the fire service.”
At the briefing, Fire Service Director General Brigadier General Muhammad Zahed Kamal said, “There was a delay in extinguishing the fire because there was a collapsible gate and we had to cut it to enter. The fire spread more due to the interior design. There was not enough water.”
