A second-grade student named Hossain (07) was strangled to death in Tongibari, Munshiganj.
Based on the information of the accused in the incident, Aryan alias Mahim, the police recovered the body of the child student on Sunday morning, two days after he went missing from a forest adjacent to Palashpur Peshkarbari in Dhipur Union of the upazila.
Police and locals said that the child Hossain left his house to play last Friday afternoon. After a lot of searching, when he did not return home even after evening, his relatives came to know that he was seen riding a bicycle with his neighbor Aryan alias Mahim in the afternoon.
When Aryan was questioned based on that information, he confessed that he had tied Hossain’s hands and feet and strangled him to death. After the murder, the body was left in the forest adjacent to Palashpur Peshkarbari in Dhipur Union.
The family of the deceased informed the police about the matter. Later, the police arrested the accused Aryan and after questioning him, recovered the child’s body from the place he indicated around 9 am on Sunday.
The deceased, Hossain, is the son of Jewel Mia of Dulihata village in Tongibari upazila. He is a second-grade student of Arial Government Primary School.
In this regard, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Munshiganj Tongibari Police Station, Mohidul Islam said that the body has been recovered and sent to Munshiganj General Hospital for autopsy. The reason for the murder will be known after the final interrogation.
