An organization called Nabpratya Shilpa O Sahitya Sangsad has held a protest program against the Women’s Reform Commission and the Women’s Friendship March at the Haji Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (Habipratya) in Dinajpur with the slogan “We want equality, not fairness.”
Women students were seen holding various placards in their hands at the program. The placards read, “In the name of democratic reform, conspiracy will not work,” “We want decency in married life, not Western ideology,” and “Women’s safety lies in Islam, not in Western imitation.”
The students said at the program, “We believe that the ongoing issue, the Women’s Reform Commission and the Women’s Friendship March are nothing but baseless, anti-social, destructive activities that destroy family infrastructure and are destructive to the progress of civilization.” Today’s march program of our Nabpratya Shilpa O Sahitya Sangsad is a protest against that.
At that time, they made 6-point demands including “ensuring 100% rehabilitation of sex workers, repealing all articles against the Quran, reconstituting the Women’s Reform Commission, and respecting family structure and religious matters.”
It is worth noting that the Nabpratya Shilpa O Sahitya Sangsad is a non-political social organization that works to spread religious culture and values among women.
