One person has died in the last 24 hours due to dengue, a disease spread by Aedes mosquitoes. In addition, 352 more people have been admitted to hospitals with dengue fever during this period.
This information was given in a report sent by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Saturday (June 21).
The report said that in the last 24 hours till 8 am on Saturday, the highest number of dengue patients, 167, were admitted to hospitals in Barisal. In addition, 62 patients were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka Metropolitan City (excluding City Corporation), 76 in Chittagong Division, 24 in Rajshahi Division, 15 in Dhaka Division and 8 in Khulna Division.
So far this year, 31 people have died due to dengue. 7,429 have been infected. The number of deaths is more among men.
