The Meteorological Department has said that a heat wave is blowing over three divisions and six districts of the country and it may continue. This information has been given in the weather forecast for the next 24 hours from 9 am today, Friday.
It said that a mild heat wave is blowing over Tangail, Faridpur, Brahmanbaria, Khulna, Jessore and Chuadanga districts as well as Rangpur, Rajshahi and Sylhet divisions and it may continue.
Regarding rainfall, the Meteorological Department says that light to moderate rain/thunderstorm accompanied by temporary gusty winds may occur in some places of Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and one or two places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna and Barisal divisions. Along with this, there may be moderate to heavy rainfall in some places across the country.
However, the department said that day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country.
Regarding the synoptic situation, the department says that the low pressure area extends from West Bengal to southwest Bangladesh and northwest Bay of Bengal. The monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate in the north Bay of Bengal.
