The last day to receive applications for registration of new political parties with the Election Commission (EC) is June 22 (Sunday). The National Citizens Party (NCP) will submit its application for registration to the EC on the same day.
This information was given after the approval of the draft constitution of the NCP at the party general meeting on Friday (June 20) afternoon.
According to the draft constitution, the party president and general secretary will be elected through the council. However, in this case, a person can hold the post of president and general secretary for a maximum of two terms.
The political council will be responsible for determining the highest policy of the party. The party president and general secretary will be members of this 15-member council ex officio. Apart from them, there will be two more nominated members.
The remaining 11 people will be elected. At least 3 of the elected members will be women.
