Mass mobilization movement in favor of secret ballot of parliamentarians in presidential elections

The members of parliament have agreed to hold the presidential election through a secret ballot, said Jonayed Saki, the chief coordinator of the Mass Solidarity Movement. Jonayed Saki said this during the adjourned session of the second phase of the dialogue between political parties with the National Consensus Commission at the Foreign Service Academy on Thursday.

He said, “What we want to emphasize is that this election must be held on the basis of a secret ballot. Many others have made this proposal, and we agree with this proposal.”

In today’s discussion, Jonayed Saki said that most political parties agreed with the proposal to hold the presidential election through a secret ballot. He said, “Almost everyone agrees on the issue of holding the election through a secret ballot. Some have said that we need to have a little discussion with the party (their own political party). “

Abul Hasan Rubel, the executive coordinator of the Mass Solidarity Movement, said that most political parties have agreed to change the existing system of presidential elections. He said, “Now discussions are underway on how this change will progress. “The decision to amend Article 70 in the last two days of discussions will allow members of parliament to vote against their party in the presidential election. As a result, most political parties have agreed on this issue.”
