Khulna gives Chittagong a mountain-like target

Chittagong Kings and Khulna Tigers took to the field on the second day of the 11th edition of BPL. Chittagong Kings won the toss and sent Khulna Tigers into bat at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Tuesday (December 31). Batting first, Miraj-Naimra gave Chittagong a big target of 203 runs.

Naeem Islam gave Khulna a great start after losing the toss and opting to bat. However, the batsman who scored the highest number of runs in the NCL T20 could not extend the innings. He was caught on the boundary line after scoring 26 runs off 17 balls. Batting at number three, Mehedi Miraj took the team’s lead along with opener Bosisto. Khulna could score 79 runs in 10 overs with the bat of the two. However, Miraj could not settle down on the pitch.

He returned to the dressing room after scoring 18 runs off 18 balls. Then, when Ibrahim Zadran (6) and Afif Hossain were out for 8 runs, Khulna lost their rhythm. But opener Bosisto scored a fifty off 36 balls, keeping the other end in front. Mahidul Islam Ankan continued to bat for the sixth wicket.

These two batsmen put on a 50-run partnership off 22 balls. Ankan scored a fifty off 18 balls in a devastating batting performance. In the end, Khulna scored a big total of 202 runs, thanks to Ankan’s 59 runs off 22 balls and Bosisto’s unbeaten 75 runs off 50 balls. Alish Al Islam and Khaled Ahmed took two wickets each for Chittagong Kings.
