The head of Iran’s armed forces, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, was also killed in the Israeli attack. Iranian state television reported this information.
Israel carried out airstrikes on several nuclear and military facilities in Iran last night. The attack, which was carried out overnight, killed top military officials such as General Hossein Salami, the head of the country’s elite Revolutionary Guard, and Chief of Staff Mohammad Bagheri.
Bagheri joined the Islamic Revolutionary Guard in 1980. He gradually became the country’s most important military leader.
Iran has already responded to the attack. The country’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that Israel will face severe punishment.
