Two of Europe’s strongest clubs, Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund, have won a very dramatic match in the FIFA Club World Cup. Inter Milan breathed a sigh of relief at the last minute by defeating Japan’s Urawa Red Diamonds 2-1. On the other hand, Borussia Dortmund won 4-3 in a goalless match against South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns.
The start of the match was not good for Inter. Ryoma Watanabe gave Japanese club Urawa the lead in just 11 minutes. That gap was maintained in the first half. After that, Inter failed to see the face of the goal despite trying for a long time.
Finally, Argentine forward Lautaro Martinez equalized in the 78th minute. When the match was heading towards a draw, Valentin Carboni dramatically secured the victory in the second minute of added time (90+2).
Meanwhile, German club Dortmund came under pressure early in the match against Sundowns. The South African club took the lead in the 11th minute through Lucas Ribeiro Costa. However, Dortmund equalized five minutes later through Felix Mecher.
They then took control of the match with a series of attacks. In the 34th minute, Guiresi and in the 45th minute, Bellingham scored to give the team a 3-1 lead. Another goal came for Dortmund in the second half, although it was an own goal by opponent player Khuliso Mudau (59th minute).
However, Sundowns did not give up. They reduced the gap with goals from Ikram Rayners in the 62nd minute and Lebo Mothiba in the 90th minute. Despite attacking one after another to restore parity in the last minute, the South African club could not break Dortmund’s defense.
