Fascism will no longer have a place in Bangladesh: Annie

BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie said, ‘We will be vocal in the field from July 1 to August 5. We tell God that fascism will no longer have a place in Bangladesh. Fascism is dead. Fascism has been buried. Somehow, fascism will rise up and destroy this generation, me and you, and that opportunity will not arise again on the soil of Bangladesh. In that case, this generation has the greatest responsibility.’

He said these things as the chief guest at the farewell, Haji Muslim scholarship and prayer program for HSC examinees of Chandraganj Kafil Uddin Degree College in Lakshmipur on Tuesday afternoon. This was organized in the college auditorium.

Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie said, ‘The students came to the road with their mothers. Those who were studying in school, have taken the SSC exam, today they will take the HSC exam. They were very vocal in the field. They held the hands of their parents and protested in the field. While carrying out that movement, they (Awami League) killed thousands of students and people across the country, including Lakshmipur. They shot and killed people from helicopters. They killed women, they killed ordinary people. ’

He said, ‘Even then, they thought that they had to continue this power. If it meant taking more bodies, if it meant sucking more blood, Hasina did not hesitate or think about it. With the desire to stay in power, Hasina tortured and oppressed everyone, including students, women, men, and children, in the July movement. ’

The BNP Joint Secretary General said, ‘If the goal of our movement is not achieved, we will not be able to answer to the nation. If we are accountable to the nation, then it is possible for us to reach the target with which we did politics, the goal to reach which we protested. ’

He said, ‘That awakening, that speed was there even before August 5, and it is still there. To maintain this, there must be strong unity. That unity must be a steel-hard unity. That unity will be against fascists, authoritarianism, dictatorship and above all, Sheikh Hasina and her gangs. We have no disagreements on this matter. There is no division or difference between us on this matter. We will strengthen that unity.’

Presided over by the acting principal of Kafil Uddin Degree College, Priyabrata Chowdhury, Chandraganj Thana BNPO member secretary Anwar Hossain Bachchu and Chandraganj Thana OC Faizul Azim, along with college teachers and members of the management committee, were special guests.
