An expatriate has lost his life at the hands of thieves in Nagarkanda, Faridpur. The gang of thieves entered the house and recognized them, so they killed the owner of the house, Jamal Matubbar (55). At that time, the thieves looted cash and gold ornaments in the house and fled. Jamal Matubbar is the son of Hatem Matubbar of the village.
According to police and local sources, Jamal Matubbar had been in Malaysia for about 30 years. He returned to the country a month ago on the occasion of Eid and later got married. A group of organized thieves broke into the house at night with the intention of stealing. They hit Jamal on the private parts with an iron rod, causing him to die on the spot. Locals rescued him and took him to Faridpur Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Sathi Begum, the cousin of the deceased Jamal, said, “The thieves hit Jamal on the testicles and looted cash and gold ornaments in the house.” Upon receiving the news, neighbors came and rescued Jamal and took him to Faridpur Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
In this regard, Nagarkanda Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Safar Ali said, “This incident happened because the members of the gang of thieves entered the house and probably recognized them. No complaint has been received from the victim’s family yet. We are investigating the real incident and taking legal action.”
