A construction worker named Hashem Ali (35) died after being electrocuted in Daulatpur, Kushtia. The incident took place at around 11 am today, Sunday, in Hossainabad Gorerpara village of Mathurapur union of the upazila.
The deceased Hashem Ali is the son of the late Achan Sheikh of Gobargara village of Sadar union of Daulatpur upazila.
According to police and local sources, Hashem was accidentally electrocuted by the connection wire of an electric motor while pouring water on the piled bricks of a building under construction. Locals immediately rescued him and took him to Daulatpur Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared Hashem Ali dead.
Regarding the accident, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Daulatpur Police Station Nazmul Huda said, “We have received information about the death of one person due to electrocution. Necessary legal action will be taken if we receive a complaint in this regard.”
