A case has been filed in court over a fight at a mediation meeting in Khalagaon village of Pachgaon union in Tongibari upazila of Munshiganj.
The plaintiff in the case, Montu Dhali, said that recently, our elder brother Sentu Dhali, son of the deceased Gagan Dhali, Rahim Dhali, Shafi Dhali, and Delwar Molla Gangra spread dirty propaganda like a foreigner in the area against my elder brother Sentu Dhali. When this damaged our honor, we informed the village elders about the matter. Later, the elders organized a trial mediation at Khalagaon Jame Mosque on Wednesday (April 2) afternoon.
At that time, the elders asked the above-mentioned people to apologize to my brother for spreading lies. Angered by this, the above-mentioned people and their relatives, Russell Dhali, Roni Dhali, Rubel Dhali, and Sohel Sheikh Gangra, ambushed us. In this, I, my brother Sentu Dhali, Kalu Dhali, niece Shahadat and several others were killed and seriously injured.
Later, the locals came and rescued us and took us to Tongibari Health Complex. When we went to Tongibari Police Station to file a case on the night of the incident, the OC of the police station did not take our case. When asked why he would not take the case, he said that he had orders from an influential BNP leader.
We have approached the court because the police station did not take the case. He also said that the condition of my brother Sentu Dhali is very bad. On the other hand, the accused are threatening us. We want justice for the accused.
