420 families received beef for 10 taka on Eid. Bikrampur Manab Seba Foundation, a voluntary organization in Tongibari Upazila of Munshiganj, took this initiative so that the helpless people of the society can eat beef on Eid. In addition, the organization has experience in various cooperative works including distributing free iftar items during Ramadan every year, conducting merit exams, working alongside the helpless poor.
A woman named Khaleda Begum, who came to buy meat for 10 taka in this exceptional market, said, “These days, even if you give 10 taka to children, they don’t want to take it, but here we get 1 kg of beef for 10 taka.” May Allah bless those who have organized this event thinking about the helpless like us. An old man named Md. Fazal said, “With the price of beef in the market, I thought I wouldn’t be able to eat beef on Eid. I can eat meat on Eid because of the youth of Bikrampur Manab Seba Foundation. They are giving 1 kg of beef for 10 taka. We are very happy with their initiative.”
Abu Bakr Siddique Hira, president of Bikrampur Manab Seba Foundation, said, “For the 4th time, we are selling beef for 10 taka. This year, we are selling beef for 10 taka among 420 people in the upazila. The purpose of selling for 10 taka is so that the helpless people of the society feel that they can buy and eat beef on Eid. We have taken such an initiative from that thought.”
