Jatiya Nagorik Party convener Nahid Islam has demanded the cancellation of their registration as a party while the Awami League’s genocide trial is ongoing. He said, Awami League’s position on the issue is clear, they have no right to do politics in Bangladesh, the people gave their verdict on August 5, it remains to be seen how it will be implemented.
Nahid Islam said this after visiting the graves of martyrs of the July Uprising at the Jurain Cemetery in the capital on Monday (March 31) morning of Eid. He said, Jatiya Nagorik Party will always be by the side of those killed and injured in the July Uprising.
The Jatiya Nagorik Party convener said, Eid is a joyful one regardless of party affiliation after the uprising, but it is also sad that the family members of those we have lost come here to visit the graves to share in the pain.
