BNP Central Executive Committee member and former Deputy Minister Advocate Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu said, ‘The Zia family was always by our side in establishing Bangladesh’s independence, sovereignty, democracy and people’s right to food.’
Dulu said this while speaking as the chief guest at a teachers’ rally organized by Natore Zilla Parishad Auditorium on Saturday afternoon.
BNP central leader Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu said, ‘In 1971, during the war, Sheikh Mujib surrendered to Pakistan. Then the killings started in the country. At this time of exhaustion in the country, martyred President Ziaur Rahman declared independence. He protected all the people of Bangladesh by declaring this independence. BNP improved the fate of the people after coming to power. Starting from roads and ghats, it built all the infrastructure. BNP was the only party that introduced all kinds of facilities for girls’ education. It increased the salaries and allowances of teachers. Teachers are the ones who can change this society. You alone can rebuild this society.’
The former minister said, ‘When the Awami League came to power, it destroyed the democracy and voting rights of the people of the country. People did not have the right to speak, there was no rule of law. The students and people of the country forced that fascist Sheikh Hasina to flee the country in the face of the movement. Today, democracy and the right to rice have returned to the country.’
Dulu said, ‘Most of the institutions in Natore have become MPOs because of me. No teacher can say that I was bribed even a taka. But during the fascist Awami League, they had to pay 10 lakh to 15 lakh taka to get appointed. They took lakhs of taka for a simple peon post. We will have to give an account of that to Allah. When the elections come, who is the BNP teacher? Who is the Awami League teacher? Knowing that, the presiding officers were appointed from among the Awami League teachers.
