Notification Customization: In the new settings called ‘Notify For’, users can choose in which cases they want to receive notifications – mentions, replies, saved contacts or everything.
Special benefits for iPhone users: From now on, documents can be scanned, cropped and saved directly through the attachment option on the iPhone using the ‘Scan Document’ feature. In addition, there will be an opportunity to set WhatsApp as the default messaging and calling app on the iPhone. The feature of zooming in on video calls has also been added.
Improved video calling technology: WhatsApp says that the quality of video calls has been improved through new technology. This will reduce call drops and video freezing. HD quality video calls can now be made through improved bandwidth detection.
Event creation and add to call option: Not only in groups, but now events can also be created in 1:1 chats. It has the option of ‘Maybe’ as an RSVP, ‘Plus One’ facility to bring guests, add date and time, and pin the event.
