BGB has seized 9 Indian cows from the Khasiapara area of the Banshtala border in Doarabazar upazila of Sunamganj.
Members of the Banshtala BOP of Banglabazar Union of Doarabazar upazila of BGB’s 28th Battalion, Sunamganj, seized 9 Indian cows in the early hours of Sunday.
BGB said that the estimated value of the 9 cows seized is 465,000 taka. Meanwhile, although it was possible to seize the cows illegally brought from India, the BGB could not arrest anyone as the smugglers fled. Sensing the presence of the BGB, the smugglers fled.
Lt. Col. AKM Zakaria Qadir, commander of BGB’s 28th Battalion, Sunamganj, said that 9 Indian cows were seized during a drive in the Banshtala border area of Doarabazar. The seized cows have been submitted to the Sunamganj Customs Office. BGB’s surveillance is continuing to prevent smuggling at the border.
