Two country-made pipe guns and two shotgun cartridges were recovered in a joint force operation in Chandpur. However, no one was arrested in this incident. These weapons and cartridges were recovered from the field adjacent to the Dhali Bari Mosque in Bishnupur area of Sadar upazila on Saturday night.
Lieutenant Jabid Hasan, operational officer of Chandpur Sadar Army Camp, confirmed this information on Sunday (April 20) morning.
He said that based on local intelligence, the District Detective Branch (DB) and the army conducted a joint operation in Bishnupur area of Sadar upazila against robbers and drug traffickers from Chandpur Sadar Army Camp. Two country-made pipe guns and two shotgun cartridges were recovered in the operation.
The recovered items have been handed over to Chandpur Sadar Model Police Station for legal action. The joint force has been conducting an operation to recover all armed terrorists, drug dealers and illegal weapons in Chandpur district since September 4 last year, the official said.
