2 businessmen killed as cattle truck overturns in Rajbari

Two cattle traders were killed when a truck carrying cattle lost control and fell into a ditch in Kalukhali, Rajbari. The tragic accident occurred on the Rajbari-Kushtia regional highway in the Bangladesh Hat area of ​​the upazila at around 1:30 pm on Saturday (May 31).

The deceased were Rafiqul Islam (50), son of the late Kafil Uddin of Madhupur village in Kushtia Sadar upazila, and Rafiqul Islam (30), son of Abdur Rashid of Afzalpur village. Both were cattle traders by profession.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pangsha Highway Police Station Harun-or-Rashid said that 12 traders from Madhupur, Kushtia, set off for Dhaka in a truck with 14 cows. On the way, when they reached the Bangladesh Hat area of ​​Kalukhali, the truck lost control while passing an easy bike in the rain and fell into a ditch on the side of the road.

The two Rafiqul Islams died on the spot in the accident. At that time, two cows also died on the spot after being crushed.

Other businessmen injured in the incident have been rescued. Local administration has inspected the accident site.
