Police have arrested the main accused and two others in the kidnapping case of fish trader Monnafa Sarkar in Salanga police station area of Sirajganj.
The arrested are Ershadul Islam (35) and Abu Sufian (25) of Shriram Para village. With this, the number of accused arrested in the case has increased to 5.
The investigating officer of the case, Inspector (Investigation) Monojit Kumar confirmed the matter and said that about four months ago, the people of the opposing party kidnapped fish trader Monnafa Sarkar in a microbus. In this incident, the abductee’s brother Mahbubul Alam filed a case with Salanga police station as the plaintiff.
Based on the special technology and intelligence information of the police, three people were arrested earlier and it was possible to rescue the kidnapped Monnafa. Based on the information provided by them, the main accused in the case, Ershadul Islam, and one more person were arrested with the help of RAB-4 from the Niribili area of Ashulia, Dhaka on Wednesday.
The investigation officer also said that the arrested people have been sent to prison through the court.
